A top price for Ming Jian
When the work Landscapes Inspired by Poems by Ming Jian was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 212,500.00 (€ 21,073.30). This high result makes Landscapes Inspired by Poems the most expensive artwork by Ming Jian that we have observed at auctions so far.
