Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nectarine by Ming Fay was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 4,562.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ming Fay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cherries, which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,438.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nectarine von Ming Fay kam im April 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 4.562,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ming Fay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cherries beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 17.438,72) versteigert wurde.
