Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Millard Owen Sheets could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection auction, the work Monument Valley changed hands for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,377.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Millard Owen Sheets achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wild Horses of The Camargue in April last year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 26,620.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Millard Owen Sheets konnte im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection wechselte die Arbeit Monument Valley für USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.377,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Millard Owen Sheets erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wild Horses of The Camargue im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 26.620,48).
