Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life With Lemons, Pot And Large Bottle by Mildred Bendall for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,530.72). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mildred Bendall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Trawler, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,530.21).
