Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Empire State Building from the series Reconstructed History by Mike Kelley was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction auction at Phillips in March this year. The price achieved of USD 9,525.00 (€ 8,761.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mike Kelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memory Ware Flat 1 in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 3,301,000.00 (€ 2,964,526.27).

Die Arbeit The Empire State Building from the series Reconstructed History von Mike Kelley wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction bei Phillips versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.525,00 (€ 8.761,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mike Kelley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memory Ware Flat 1 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.301.000,00 (€ 2.964.526,27).
