Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Unknown by Migita Toshihide. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,045.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Migita Toshihide - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in July 2005 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,610.88).
