The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,227.89), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michele Vitaloni; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Garganey sold at auction in December 2012 with the realized price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,040.76).
