Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hanging songbirds; and Another similar by Michelangelo Meucci was sold in the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,180.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michelangelo Meucci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hanging songbirds; and Another similar von Michelangelo Meucci wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.180,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michelangelo Meucci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65).
