Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Le couple à la plante verte by Michel Macréau was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 17,640.00. Admittedly, works by Michel Macréau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tatouage Sur Le Sorcier - 1961 in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 143,000.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Le couple à la plante verte von Michel Macréau im März 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 17.640,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michel Macréau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tatouage Sur Le Sorcier - 1961 im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 143.000,00.
