This artwork by Michel Beligond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Travel and Vintage Posters auction, the work 24H Du Mans, 1961 sold for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,751.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Beligond; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 24 H Du Mans, 1959 sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,144.63).
