Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Sanjue Three by Michael Johnson was sold in the Important Paintings auction at Sothebys in Sydney in April 2008. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 36,000.00 (€ 21,780.83), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Michael Johnson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 66,000.00 (€ 39,758.17) in November 2007 for the work Australian Yellow Ochre.
