Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Burnt Umber Ground by Michael Johnson was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. The price achieved of AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,784.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Yellow Ochre in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 66,000.00 (€ 39,758.17).
