Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Palisade Riddle by Michael Johnson was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 37,200.00 (€ 22,683.71), 24% above the upper estimate. Other works by Michael Johnson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 66,000.00 (€ 39,758.17) in November 2007 for the work Australian Yellow Ochre.
