In March 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Painter at work by Michael Andrews. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,077.47), 48% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Andrews achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Near Malu Kata Evening, Katatjuta (The Olgas) in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,265,000.00 (€ 1,518,412.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Im März 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Painter at work von Michael Andrews zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.077,47) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Andrews erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Near Malu Kata Evening, Katatjuta (The Olgas) im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.265.000,00 (€ 1.518.412,80).
