In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Old River: Winter '80 Geldeston  by Michael Andrews. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 22,318.68), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Andrews achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Near Malu Kata Evening, Katatjuta (The Olgas) in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,265,000.00 (€ 1,518,412.80).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen

Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old River: Winter '80 Geldeston  von Michael Andrews zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 22.318,68) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Andrews erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Near Malu Kata Evening, Katatjuta (The Olgas) im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.265.000,00 (€ 1.518.412,80).
