Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 11 Diagonal Street, Johannesburg by Meschac Gaba was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,049.73). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Meschac Gaba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Pavé Dans La Mère, which sold at auction in May 2017 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,842.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 11 Diagonal Street, Johannesburg von Meschac Gaba kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.049,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Meschac Gaba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Pavé Dans La Mère beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.842,16) versteigert wurde.
