Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Classic & Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Du Taxi, Paris by Melvin Sokolsky. The price achieved of USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,168.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Melvin Sokolsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paris 1963 in April 2012 with an auction result of USD 92,500.00 (€ 69,922.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Du Taxi, Paris von Melvin Sokolsky zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.168,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Melvin Sokolsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paris 1963 im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 69.922,14).
