The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,064.00 (€ 6,801.75), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mel Bochner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blah, Blah, Blah in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,249.19).

Die Arbeit Obliterate (K. 2018.03) von Mel Bochner wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.064,00 (€ 6.801,75) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mel Bochner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blah, Blah, Blah im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.249,19).
