This work of art by Meiffren Conte could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Still Life With Hercules Candlestick, Silver Gilt Ewer, Lemons And Oranges On A Sideboard Dish, Nautilus Shell, And Other Objects Arranged On A Ledge With A Column Beyond changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,413.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Meiffren Conte have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2012 by the work A silver incense burner and sideboard dish, a silver-gilt ewer and vase with nautilus shells, a sabre and a jewelry box on a ledge draped with a velvet curtain at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,263.79).
