Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life With An Ornate Silver Gilt Ewer, A Silver Gilt Jewellery Casket, Shells, Oranges And A Pomegranate, All Arranged On A Partly Draped Stone Ledge by Meiffren Conte was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2009. The price achieved of EUR 5,625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Meiffren Conte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A silver incense burner and sideboard dish, a silver-gilt ewer and vase with nautilus shells, a sabre and a jewelry box on a ledge draped with a velvet curtain in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,263.79).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.625,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden.
