This artwork by Mei Yutian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Strolling Up the Mountain sold for HKD 17,500.00 (€ 1,884.14) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mei Yutian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Starving Man in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 126,500.00 (€ 14,619.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Yutian erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Strolling Up the Mountain für HKD 17.500,00 (€ 1.884,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mei Yutian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Starving Man im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 126.500,00 (€ 14.619,69).
