A top price for Mei Yutian
When the work Starving Man by Mei Yutian was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 8,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 15 times as high at HKD 126,500.00 (€ 14,619.69). This high result makes Starving Man the most expensive artwork by Mei Yutian that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Mei Yutian
Als die Arbeit Starving Man von Mei Yutian im April 2015 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 8.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 126.500,00 (€ 14.619,69) mehr als 15-mal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Starving Man zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Mei Yutian, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
