A top price for Mei Qing
When the work Scenes Of Mt. Huang by Mei Qing was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 700,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 3,440,000.00 (€ 401,883.72). This high result makes Scenes Of Mt. Huang the most expensive artwork by Mei Qing that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Mei Qing
Als die Arbeit Scenes Of Mt. Huang von Mei Qing im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 700.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 3.440.000,00 (€ 401.883,72) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Scenes Of Mt. Huang zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Mei Qing, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
