Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mei Qing achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Rafting Beside The Cliffs sold for HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 165,092.72) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mei Qing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes Of Mt. Huang, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 3,440,000.00 (€ 401,883.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Qing erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Rafting Beside The Cliffs für HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 165.092,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mei Qing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scenes Of Mt. Huang beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für HKD 3.440.000,00 (€ 401.883,72) versteigert wurde.
