In October 2001 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Boating On Xiangtan by Mei Qing. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 376,000.00 (€ 53,600.80), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mei Qing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes Of Mt. Huang in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,440,000.00 (€ 401,883.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boating On Xiangtan von Mei Qing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 376.000,00 (€ 53.600,80) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mei Qing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scenes Of Mt. Huang im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.440.000,00 (€ 401.883,72).
