Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mei Lanfang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Plum Blossoms sold for HKD 163,800.00 (€ 18,142.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mei Lanfang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amitayu in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Lanfang erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Plum Blossoms für HKD 163.800,00 (€ 18.142,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mei Lanfang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amitayu im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17).
