This artwork by Mei Lanfang achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in October 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Flowers sold for HKD 105,600.00 (€ 11,746.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mei Lanfang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amitayu in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Lanfang erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei China Guardian einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Flowers für HKD 105.600,00 (€ 11.746,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mei Lanfang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amitayu im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17).
