A top price for Mei Lanfang
This artwork by Mei Lanfang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Amitayu sold for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. This high result makes Amitayu the most expensive artwork by Mei Lanfang that we have observed at auctions so far.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Lanfang erzielte im April 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Amitayu für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Amitayu zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Mei Lanfang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
