It achieved a price of HKD 63,750.00 (€ 6,724.24), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mei Lanfang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amitayu in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17).

Die Arbeit Goldfish von Mei Lanfang wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 63.750,00 (€ 6.724,24) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mei Lanfang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Amitayu im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17).
