Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by McNeil Macleay could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE SCOTTISH SALE, THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, EDINBURGH auction, the work View on the Tay from Perth, with Kinnoull Hill beyond; and View on the Tay at North Inch, Scone Palace beyond changed hands for GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,727.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by McNeil Macleay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Stirling Castle, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 25,100.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von McNeil Macleay konnte im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE SCOTTISH SALE, THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, EDINBURGH wechselte die Arbeit View on the Tay from Perth, with Kinnoull Hill beyond; and View on the Tay at North Inch, Scone Palace beyond für GBP 5.975,00 (€ 8.727,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von McNeil Macleay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Stirling Castle beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 16.800,00 (€ 25.100,70) versteigert wurde.
