Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishermen By A Loch by McNeil Macleay was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2011. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,717.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by McNeil Macleay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Stirling Castle in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 25,100.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fishermen By A Loch von McNeil Macleay wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.717,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von McNeil Macleay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Stirling Castle im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 25.100,70).
