Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Forth From Stirlingshire by McNeil Macleay was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2011. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,290.96), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by McNeil Macleay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Stirling Castle, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 25,100.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Forth From Stirlingshire von McNeil Macleay wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.290,96) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von McNeil Macleay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Stirling Castle beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 16.800,00 (€ 25.100,70) versteigert wurde.
