Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Le manteau jaune by May Guinness for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,718.77). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by May Guinness - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still life with apples and a white cloth, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,656.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Le manteau jaune von May Guinness für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.718,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von May Guinness mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still life with apples and a white cloth beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.656,33) versteigert wurde.
