Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work La maison rose à Montmartre by Maurice Utrillo for USD 49,350.00 (€ 56,763.29). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art (Day Sale) at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Utrillo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Paravent De Maurice Utrillo, 1939 in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 835,540.00.
