In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online, which included the work Plage Surrealiste by Maurice Henry. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,793.88), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Maurice Henry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les œufs du vent in March this year with an auction result of EUR 8,287.50.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plage Surrealiste von Maurice Henry zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.793,88) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maurice Henry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les œufs du vent im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.287,50.
