Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ladies Seated on a Bench by Maurice Brazil Prendergast. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,048.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Brazil Prendergast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Stony Beach in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,526,000.00 (€ 4,170,313.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ladies Seated on a Bench von Maurice Brazil Prendergast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.048,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Brazil Prendergast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Stony Beach im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.526.000,00 (€ 4.170.313,42).
