Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A watercarrier walking through a gateway (illustrated); and A street scene with figures by Matthew Jarvis. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 844.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Matthew Jarvis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Tea In The Riad, Morocco in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,054.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A watercarrier walking through a gateway (illustrated); and A street scene with figures von Matthew Jarvis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 844,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthew Jarvis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Tea In The Riad, Morocco im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.054,55).
