Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matthew Day Jackson could be acquired at Sothebys in Milan in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated Milan auction, the work Mexico City 1968 changed hands for EUR 9,450.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Day Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Harriet (Last Portrait) in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 535,613.23).
