Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matthew Barney could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art | London auction, the work Krill Bolus changed hands for GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,554.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Barney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drawing Restraint 8: Condition 2003 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,205,000.00 (€ 883,431.09).
