Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 896.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Mathieu-Antoine Roux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanische Bark "Iginio S. Capto. Tom. Randich" vor Marseille in March 2006 with an auction result of EUR 4,760.00.

Die Arbeit Shipping in a calm off the French coast von Mathieu-Antoine Roux kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 896,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mathieu-Antoine Roux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spanische Bark "Iginio S. Capto. Tom. Randich" vor Marseille im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.760,00.
