Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Anemones by Mary Nicol Neill Armour was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,902.20). Admittedly, works by Mary Nicol Neill Armour have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Midsummer Flowers in August 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,347.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Anemones von Mary Nicol Neill Armour im November 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.902,20) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Nicol Neill Armour auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Midsummer Flowers im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.347,92).
