Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roses by Mary Elizabeth Duffield was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 329.00 (€ 472.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mary Elizabeth Duffield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with daffodils, cyclamen and anemones in ceramic vases on a ledge in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,275.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Roses von Mary Elizabeth Duffield kam im November 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 329,00 (€ 472,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Elizabeth Duffield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still life with daffodils, cyclamen and anemones in ceramic vases on a ledge im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.275,18).
