Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Giant mignionette and roses by Mary Elizabeth Duffield. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,056.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Elizabeth Duffield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still life with daffodils, cyclamen and anemones in ceramic vases on a ledge, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,275.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Giant mignionette and roses von Mary Elizabeth Duffield zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.056,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Elizabeth Duffield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still life with daffodils, cyclamen and anemones in ceramic vases on a ledge beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.275,18) versteigert wurde.
