Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Algarroba by Marwan Sahmarani was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 22,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,398.92). Admittedly, works by Marwan Sahmarani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Resignation and Rebellion in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 85,000.00 (€ 79,454.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Algarroba von Marwan Sahmarani im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.398,92) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marwan Sahmarani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Resignation and Rebellion im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 85.000,00 (€ 79.454,10).
