Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ponte Dell'Angelo by Martín Rico y Ortega was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,167.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martín Rico y Ortega achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Rio San Trovaso, Venice in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 420,000.00 (€ 307,467.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ponte Dell'Angelo von Martín Rico y Ortega im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.167,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martín Rico y Ortega erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish Rio San Trovaso, Venice im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 420.000,00 (€ 307.467,06).
