Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction European Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Feeding the Ducks on a Canal in Venice in a gilt period frame 105.5 x 79.0 x 10.5 cm (41 1/2 x 31 1/8 x 4 1/8 in). by Martín Rico y Ortega. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,000.00 (€ 29,336.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martín Rico y Ortega achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Rio San Trovaso, Venice in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 420,000.00 (€ 307,467.06).
