Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At The Edge Of The Water by Martín Rico y Ortega was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,320.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martín Rico y Ortega achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Rio San Trovaso, Venice in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 420,000.00 (€ 307,467.06).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.320,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
