A top price for Martin Kippenberger - as previously expected
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included this untitled work by Martin Kippenberger. The price achieved of USD 16,405,000.00 (€ 14,921,775.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000,000.00 – 20,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Martin Kippenberger that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Martin Kippenberger zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.405.000,00 (€ 14.921.775,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000.000,00 – 20.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Martin Kippenberger, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
