Description
Martial Raysse (né en 1936) Hommage à Ingres signé des initiales et daté 'MR 63' (au dos); signé deux fois et daté 'MARTIAL RAYSSE 63' (sur le châssis) gouache et graphite sur papier marouflé sur toile; dans un cadre d'artiste 22.8 x 14.5 cm. Réalisé en 1963. signed with the initials and dated 'MR 63' (on the reverse); signed twice and dated 'MARTIAL RAYSSE 63' (on the stretcher) gouache and graphite on paper laid on canvas; in an artist's frame 9 x 5 3 ⁄ 4 in. Executed in 1963.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art – online sale including ‘’A Lifetime Collection’’, which included the work Hommage à Ingres by Martial Raysse. The price achieved of EUR 37,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martial Raysse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'année dernière à Capri (titre exotique) (Last Year in Capri (Exotic Title)) in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,073,250.00 (€ 4,797,947.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art – online sale including ‘’A Lifetime Collection’’ durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hommage à Ingres von Martial Raysse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 37.800,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martial Raysse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'année dernière à Capri (titre exotique) (Last Year in Capri (Exotic Title)) im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.073.250,00 (€ 4.797.947,71).
