Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life With Sunflowers (Recto); And Young Woman Holding A Child (Verso) by Martha Walter for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,678.09). This price was achieved in the auction Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martha Walter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink Umbrella in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Still Life With Sunflowers (Recto); And Young Woman Holding A Child (Verso) von Martha Walter für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.678,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martha Walter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pink Umbrella im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 189.262,13).
